On January 31, ten James A. Garfield Middle School seventh and eighth graders attended the Portage County Middle School Leadership Seminar held at the Garrettsville YMCA. Handpicked by their teachers for showcasing strong leadership qualities and embodying the district’s core values, the students traveled with Mrs. Scirocco to participate in a day of interactive workshops.
Guided by high school mentors from across Portage County, attendees engaged in hands-on activities designed to build their communication and collaboration skills. By the end of the seminar, Garfield students left inspired and equipped with new strategies to lead effectively—both in school and within the greater community. It's a great time to be a G-Man!
