Brace yourselves—next week is looking like a frosty one, with several days of temperatures dipping below zero and wind chills dropping to -15 or beyond. Let’s talk about how we make the call for those super-cold days. When it comes to freezing temps, our protocol is straightforward: if the actual temperature is below zero or wind chills hit -15 or worse, we call it a day. No snow, no sleet, no icy roads to complicate things—just plain, old-fashioned cold.
Now, I know some of our students (and maybe a few parents) get a little frustrated when school is in session during snowy weather. But trust me, managing cold days is way easier than playing meteorological detective with snowstorms.
As always, I’ll do my best to make the call as early as possible—so keep your phones nearby this weekend! And speaking of planning ahead, I see you, Buckeye fans. With Ohio State playing for the National Championship Monday night, I’m just as thrilled as anyone about the possibility of sleeping in Tuesday morning if those temps hit our closure threshold. A little extra rest and no early-morning shuffle to school? Sounds like a win to me.
Stay warm, stay safe, and go G-Men (and Buckeyes)!
