Over 60 students were honored at the annual Middle School Awards Night held on May 21st in The Iva Walker Auditorium. The packed house celebrated the achievements of students across various categories, including Academic Excellence, Citizenship, JAGcoin Top Earners, Most Improved Students, G-Men of the Month Recipients, Perfect Attendance, and the 4.0 Honor Roll.
One of the many highlights of the evening was the announcement of the Students of the Year. De'Andrea Miller, a seventh grader, and Jared Cardinal, an eighth grader, received the prestigious title for their outstanding academic achievements, leadership, and contributions to the school community. Both students were praised for their dedication and exemplary behavior, setting a high standard for their peers.
The JAG Core Values Awards, recognizing students who exemplify the District's Core Values including respect, responsibility, and integrity, were presented to Kennadi Stafford, an eighth grader, and Emily Penney, a seventh grader. Both students demonstrated exceptional character and served as role models for their classmates throughout the school year.
Additionally, the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award, honoring students who display outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork, and athletic achievement went to Ryder Cain for his achievements in football and wrestling, and Olivia Kuchenbecker for her accomplishments, including a school record, in track and field. Their dedication and fair play on and off the field were celebrated by all.
As the ceremony concluded, the audience's applause echoed throughout the auditorium and into the commons for cake and punch, marking the end of a successful school year. The students, staff, and families now looks forward to a well-deserved summer break, where they can relax, refresh, and reset for another great year here on campus in August. It's a great time to be a G-Man!
