In a celebration of academic excellence and commitment to service, the 20th National Junior Beta Club Induction Ceremony took place in The Iva Walker Auditorium at James A. Garfield Middle School on April 4th. The ceremony, held in high spirits, showcased the dedication and accomplishments of the newly inducted Beta Club members.
The event highlighted the Beta Club's four keys: Achievement, Character, Leadership, and Service, as pillars guiding the students towards a path of success and community engagement. Several student speeches emphasized the importance of these keys in shaping their educational journey and fostering a sense of responsibility towards others.
The newly inducted Beta Club members learned about the values of the club as current members urged them to demonstrate commitment and excellence in all their interactions on campus and within the community. As the new members embark on this journey, they are poised to make a positive impact, embodying the essence of what the Beta Club stands for.
"It was nice to see so many families, friends, and staff members come together to celebrate this remarkable group of students." said Mr. Bartz. "I have no doubt that each of them will carry the four keys with pride and make meaningful contributions to our school and to our community."
Special thanks goes out to Mrs. Gilmer, the Beta Club advisor, for her tireless efforts in organizing the event, ensuring its success. The Middle School Volunteer Parent Organization's generous funding for the club and provision of refreshments added to the festive atmosphere, with a cake and punch reception held in the commons following the ceremony.
The induction ceremony not only marked a milestone in the academic journey of these students but also served as a testament to their dedication towards making a difference, both within the school walls and beyond. It was a great night to be a G-Man!
Go G-Men!
