During the last school year, children and families benefited from no-cost school meals for all students, made possible by special permission from the United States Department of Agriculture. Unfortunately, these permissions have expired. James A Garfield Local School District and the Ohio Department of Education cannot extend the permissions for no-cost meals for all students.
School meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students. Households may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits by 8/29/2022; applications are available at http://jaglocal.schoollunchapp... as was done before the pandemic. You may also download an application from jagschools.org or pick-up a copy at the Board of Education or your child’s school. Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Ohio Works First.
You may apply at any time during the school year. For example, children with a parent or guardian who becomes unemployed may become eligible for free and reduced price meals if the household income drops below the income limit.

The National School Lunch and Breakfast Act allows school districts to directly certify students as eligible for free school meals using Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Ohio Works First (OWF) information. If you have received a NOTICE OF DIRECT CERTIFICATION for free meals, do not complete the application. But do let the school know if any children in your household are not listed on the Notice of Direct Certification letter you received

7-12

$3.50 Lunch
Reduced Price Students -All Grades
$0.30 Breakfast
